New members and upcoming CE

Last night we interviewed folks to become members into the group and decided to bring on all that interviewed, a total of six and these folks will become hiders for the group and in the future when the time is right they will be able to get their own dog. NDSD believes that it's very important to become an effective hider first, master that skill and this in turn will make you a much better dog handler. Also, we will be holding a CE on Nov. 8th and 9th with a training Mock test tomorrow for those members taking the CE. Jeff Sells from Idaho will be making a trip over to participate in the Mock Test in preparation for the CE.

CE Test

On 11-08-08 WA TF-1 held a CE for six K-9 teams from the Pacific Northwest, Colorado, Idaho and California and out of those six teams four passed the CE with the other two coming very close, they both have great dogs and will pass in the near future.

As for myself, I finally passed the CE with my dog Boone and we had a great day getting six out six. Boone looked very good on test day and didn't get any of my nervousness coming down the leash.

WA TF-1 did one hell of a good job putting on the test and should be commended for their efforts, one of the best ran tests I've seen. I would like to take the time to thank my team Northwest Disaster Search Dogs for all of their help in the last couple of years. I am truly indebted to them for all the support.

All for now
