Bruce Speer

Bruce Speer has been involved in SAR for over 25 years and has trained and handled three dogs in wilderness air scent, water, avalanche, cadaver and disaster search. A founding member of NDSD, Bruce has been certified as a national evaluator for FEMA and served as Chairperson of FEMA’s Canine Working Group. He has attended disaster search training and testing from Washington State to Washington, DC, and has responded to the Oklahoma City bombing, several structural collapses and the KAL airliner crash in Guam. He recently retired his partner, Hunter, after a long and successful working life. Bruce is currently living in Utah with his wife Jacquie and still training search dogs.
